I have three planets in air signs and therefore doubt is a very old friend. This arises in countless areas of my life. The one place I have been spared doubt is in the beautiful container I call an astrology reading. This is the anchor of my business and by business I mean what I do to exchange for money in a world that requires that, and I also mean what I do to contribute spiritually to the wellbeing of life on this planet.
I think of the astrology readings I offer as my participation in a circle of offerings. Countless others have offered me salvation and healing through their ways. What I mean is we take turns supporting each other in healing, and this is my offering to the circle.
I have “expertise” in astrology in the sense that I have been a student of it for 30 years. I’ve been giving readings for my job for eight years. But I operate from the ground that we each have free will, and that each person is the singular expert on their lives. I offer humble council, in perpetual prayer that what you need finds you through what I can offer in the moment.
I’ve had a life full of many different paid and nonpaid projects, including farming, teaching, raft guiding, abolition prison justice legal aid work, writing (always the writing), office managing, sitting long buddhist retreats, the underworld that is pregnancy, and the ego death / heart big bang / relentless agility practice that is parenting.

Astrology articulates the psychic patterns of our lives, the felt sense of our developmental seasons. The life events are different for everyone but there are commonalities to the developmental opportunity of, say, a Pluto transit. That’s what we’re giving voice to. That’s what’s healing. To be recognized, located, within a developmental process. To remember oneself as not outside of nature. And by nature I mean, you are a process. The point is to help you feel less alone, and to feel that when something isn’t “going right” in your life, it can mean spirit is asking you to locate a more internal kind of ground. We articulate the process you are undergoing together so that you are less interested in when it ends and more interested in how to engage it. We jump back and forth in time to view your life from different perspectives. We pretend hindsight so you can borrow its wisdom for the present. We ask how you can spiritually say yes to your transformation.
If we live on the surface of what our culture says we should do or have, a spiritual crisis looks like a disaster. These meetings are for cultivating your belonging to this earth. For finding trust in the midst of that noise, because trust opens our view to much more creativity, in working with what we are being given.
In belonging there is freedom and love. That’s where we’re going together in an astrology reading.
PS You don’t have to believe in astrology to receive benefit from it. Astrology doesn’t care! I see astrology as a language, not a protocol. In the same way that when you learn another language, you see a lot more about how your consciousness is constructed, which offers more choice in how you construct it.

a short guided meditation
an overview of the key themes of your birthchart
a chance for you to ask any questions (there are no bad questions) Some people ask When is my Saturn Return? Or, Who am I romantically compatible with? Or, How do I jump out of this midlife crisis? Some people ask no questions—all of these and more are welcome. But there is no future prediction here, there is no doom! We are going for the opposite of doom!
current transits of the outer planets
If the reading is for you and someone else, your partner, or your child, we don’t cover transits. Because it’s too much to do in an hour. We just cover the key pieces of each of your charts and aspects between your charts (aka the dynamics of your relationship).

I use the Placidus house system.
I don’t record readings but you are welcome to record. I usually cannot remember to remind you, sorry to say. You’ll need to be prepared to record on your own device.
I don’t use astrocartography, sorry to say. And I don’t have any references for who can. Holler if you have a good rec!
If you’re giving someone a gift certificate, make sure they can meet with me before 1:45pm pst Tues-Fri. If that is never possible for them, sadly, it won’t work.

I’m sure there are things I’m forgetting! It’s hard to remember all the things. Ask me anything: sf@existingtogether.com
